Coinciding with the first release of Windows Live Movie Maker, I sat down with Bryan Saftler who is a product manager on the Windows Live team. Bryan and I talked about this latest release of Movie Maker, what he thinks are some of the best features of the product (hint: AutoMovie), and the rationale for shipping Movie Maker as a Windows Live product versus continuing to ship it as part of the operating system.

Interesting. I just don\’t understand why it\’s version number 14. I find that very peculiar and confusing.

Hurrah, another podcast Marcus! Look forward to listening to it. And the new Movie Maker is brilliant! (don\’t feel the same about YouTube though who stripped my music out of my video I posted up there, come back Soapbox, all is forgiven! Just wish we had a video hosting service here on Windows Live *sigh*

I\’ve just been sitting here playing with the new s/w and instantly fell in love with it! All the tools, wherever you happen to be, look a bit bundled together at first glance, but as you look into things a bit further; you click on a button and the ribbon changes to reflect what it "thinks" you want to edit. Diamond bit of software, the ribbon! Whose idea was it in the first place? It\’s so well thought out. Wish I had it for everything else I use. Anyway – just done me first ever film. There\’ll be better ones but for a first attempt, no Help file needed. Now that\’s wicked!

Thanks for the comments, everyone. @Michael: I think the engineering team is trying to sync up all the version numbers across all the Windows Live Essentials products.

That previous "beta" version of Windows Movie Maker had fewer features than Microsoft PowerPoint. New one is very nice though. All that\’s missing is an awesome new PC with Windows 7 for me to install it on.

@crestind: It also works on Vista, if you\’ve got it. Runs lovely on mine.

Has anyone added some music files to a video? When I add short files and repeat them to fill in the video, they get shorter and shorter! Any idea why?

This blog is very informative. I love blogging when it is for or about something I believe in. I also read news blogs often and find that it makes me feel more intelligent every time I read them. I also feel like I am a pretty good person who tries to treat others with respect, no matter what their opinion is. There are some real haters out there. Thanks again. I learned a few things about blogging. I will definitely put your site on my speed dial. Thanks http://www.vanjobb.huhttp://www.vanjobb.hu/mobilinternet.php?11http://www.vanjobb.hu/muholdastv.php?10http://www.vanjobb.hu/csupaszadsl.php?18http://www.vanjobb.hu/Bankbetetkamatok.php?22http://www.vanjobb.hu/Bankszamlakondiciok.php?23http://www.vanjobb.hu/kabelinternet.php?12http://www.vanjobb.hu/szolgaltatovaltasadsl.php?16http://www.vanjobb.hu/adslinternetszolgaltatok.php?37
